Texas Styled Looks #2

Once I learned how to use Polyvore, making these outfits is now really fun and I just couldn't
resist doing more! Texas looks are easiest for me becaue that is the great state that I
currently live and go to school in, but I promise sometime soon I will branch out! I'm
thinking next week a post will be dedicated to the SEC. Anyway, I cut down to six of the top
athletic schools in Texas for this post. All but the maroon top (now i understand why Aggie
ladies nomrally where shirts with Texas A&M written on it, tryin to find Maroon is near
impossible. but don't worry, I'm here now and I will do the hunting for you!) are from
Mod Cloth or H&M. Both these places had such cute things. Check my Pinterest boards for
all my finds from those sites!

Let me know what you think in the comments below! Click on the photo to be
linked to Polyvore to get info on the exact products used.

Maroon [Perfect for an Aggie]
1. TrouvĂ© Pleat Detail Sleeveless Top $68: pair with jean shorts when it's hot, or
jeans when it gets cooler. Gold or silver accessories would work wonderfully
and obviously add the boots for a touch of spirit.

RedBlack & White [Great for game-days at Houston or Texas Tech]
2. Zoom Bisou Top in Black Chevron $39.99: This would work with jeans, red pants or even
black pants. The chevron is so versatile and can be worn to many different events. Add a pop
of red for a gameday like these beautiful Kendra Scott earrings.  I love the Red Raider boots
with this look because it ties in the black and red perfectly.

RedWhite & Blue [to the stylish ladies of SMU & America]
3. H&M Fitted Dress  $34.95: This dress is SO affordable, SO preppy & perfect for so
many different occasions. I this would look best with strappy gold wedges (but flat
sandals would be darling too) and a pop of red.

Green Yellow [Great for Baylor events, obvi]
 4. H&M Mustard Yellow Chiffon Blouse $24.95: Everything about this just screams
perfect for a cool fall football game. It's loose (forgiving for all the tailgate food) and
would work with both green pants and dark denim. Definitely wear your cowboy boots with this one and don't a little pop of green

PurpleWhite & Black [Perfect for a Horned Frog or K-State gal]
5. Mod Cloth Up in the Errand Top $39.99: This top is nice and airy and great for a
hot fall day. I styled this in a more casual way with the sandals, cross-body bag jean
shorts but it can definitely be more dressed up with jeans and boots!

Orange & White [Great for any UT gal]
6. H&M Satin Dress $34.95: Pair with a super cute necklace like this one ($14 btw yippee)
and either flats/wedges/boots whatever tickles your fancy!

Enjoy the looks & Happy Tailgating!

WNBA Draft: Best Dressed

If you did not know, last night was the WNBA draft. Aired on ESPN, it is a chance for some of the best talent in women's basketball to shine both on the talent but also
the fashion front.
There were only 12 ladies invited to the draft and they all came dressed to impress.

Here is a photo of all the ladies:

They all look so bright and colorful, perfect for spring! The ladies also did a wonderful job of dressing for the occasion in more conservative ensembles. Bravo.

Here are my three favorite looks of the night:

Markeisha Gatling

The print of her dress is just busy enough and the overall look is extremely professional!
I absolutely love her pop of color with the coral blazer and her up-do is the perfect hairdo to complement the outfit.

similar blazers here, here, here and here

Natalie Achonwa

This dress fits her perfectly and looks fantastic with her dark curly locks. I love the black belt matches here darling black flats (refer to photo above for shoes). She is not wearing heels because she suffered an ACL tear only two weeks ago. You can't even tell she is injured because she looks absolutely flawless.
If you want the dress for yourself you can find it at Bealls for only $40!
Stylish and a steal! Double win!
(Also, how cute would this be for those SMU or Texas Tech ladies??! Adorable!)

Chiney Ogwumike

Not only was she the number one pick, but she is by far the number one best dressed.
She looks B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L in this dress!! It could not fit her any better. The designer should basically hire her pronto to be their model it because that is what she looks like!
The coral color is perfect against her skin tone and the length is just right. I LOVE how the lace comes below the hemline of the dress adding just a little sass while still keeping it classy. She paired it perfectly with a low nude heel (check photo above) giving it just the right all around look.
This look is definitely an A+++++!!!!

I really wish I could have found this dress online because I want it. I might tweet at her later today and ask her where it's from.
If you're looking for something similar check here, here or here!

Extra: Nneka Ogwumike (Chiney's sister)

Nneka is on the right in this photo. Her springtime dress is also perfect for the occasion. She did such a wonderful job of also looking fabulous but wearing less bright colors as to not oversine her sister.
The black strappy heels and bright pink lips are the perfect accessories!
These sisters definitely know their spring fashion.
Is that something they teach at Stanford?

Isn't the pink lip color on Nneka perfect?
You can also see a nice closeup of the flowers on both their dresses.
To find something similar to what Nneka is wearing check here, here, here or here!

That wraps up my favorite styles form the WNBA Draft 2014! Congrats to all the ladies on their accomplishments and especially Baylor's Odyssey Sims  for going #2 in the draft. it is so cool going to a school that has such an accomplished female athlete!

Check back later for some awesome gameday looks I've found in the past few days. There are some goodies I can't wait to share.

Also, I've added looks from H&M to the Pinterest boards. They're looking good!

Happy Tailgating!

School Styled Looks: Texas Style

I am super excited to share this post! I finally learned how to use
Polyvore and I am feeling REALLY REALLY accomplished about the whole thing.
One thing I did not realize is how time consuming it could be! Cropping the
images perfectly around the item was no easy task. (On that note, I apologize
for the random hairs on the shirt, nothing really to be done to crop that out)

Before I explain each outfit let me start with some notes. Each of the pop of
color items were found by me somewhere on the internet. Today I found quite
a few cute and affordable things at JCPenny.com, so most of the items are from
there. If you think JCP is lame, you are definitely mistaken! I would classify it as
a smidgen above Forever 21. The clothes aren't too expensive but they have some
very trendy items. Also, they are pretty much always having a sale & they ship for
free to the store!  With the exception of the colored pants, the rest of the looks
would be perfect with your favorite pair of jeans and cowboy boots. The jewelry
is just a guide of what kind of things would be sassy complements. Also, each photo
is linked to its Polyvore page. Enjoy!

These looks are stylized centering around some sort of denim bottoms & boots!

1.2.
3.4.
5.6.
7. 8.

Blue & White [Great for girls at Rice University or SMU]
1.  Joe Fresh Two-Tone Shirt $29: pair with simple white shorts and boots for
a super cute game ensemble. If attending an SMU event add a red pop of color!

Red, Black & White [Great for game-days at Houston or Texas Tech]
2. Allen B. Studded Skinny Jeans (yes they have studs on them!) $14.99 and 9 & Co.
Print Bow Neck Blouse: I love the contrasting texture with printed top. Something
different but still a classy & conservative look.

Green & Yellow [Great for Baylor events, obvi]
 3. Co. Charmeuse Bow- Collar Blouse $24.99: I think this top is gorgeous and this
whole look is my absolute favorite! The color is super striking and the price point
is fantastic! Easily can be accessorized with gold or yellow to really bring the look together.

4. Worthington 3/4 Sleeve Colorblock Sweater $18: This sweater is all around Baylor and
would be great for the crisp fall weather. I did not pair this one with cowboy boots because
I think it would work better with riding boots.

Orange & White [Great for any UT gal]
5. Bisou Bisou Pleated Dolman Sleeve Top $24.99: When it gets cooler could also work
well with jeans, but I think the shorts are way better for the warm football games.

Purple, White & Black [Perfect for a Horned Frog or K-State gal w/different boots obviously]
6. jcp Slim-Fit Skinny Ankle Jean $13.99 and Liz Claiborne Short Sleeve Lace Top $19.99:
This is such an affordable look that can easily be dressed up with some sweet accessories
(like the Kendra Scott earrings and Rebecca Minknoff bag). Your admirers will never know!

Maroon [Perfect for an Aggie]
7. Pins & Needles Ruffle V-Neck Top $39: Finding a maroon top was pretty difficult. But
I think this one was super cute and would work with any type of jean shorts. I would have
not have put it with high waisted shorts but it was too hard to crop out the top.

Red, White & Blue [to the stylish ladies of SMU]
8. Joie Top- Amarey Matte Silk $159 matched with the studded skinny jeans linked above.
This ensemble would also be great with wedges or strappy sandals if strutting around
the Boulevard!

I hope you liked my looks for today! Check them out on Polyvore for the full outfit!

Happy Tailgating!

Today's Color Finds: Maroon, Orange, Purple & Black

I may or may not have gotten a little carried away Pinteresting last night....

In truth I'm not mad about it because I found some super cute stuff that I know you will love! Without further ado, lets get started!

Red & Black Find of the Day

FELICITY & COCO Jacquard Fit & Flare Dress $58.98
This is such a cute combination of black and red. It could work for a multitude of tailgates (Texas Tech, Texas A&M & Alabama to name a few)The great thing about this dress is it doesn't need excess accessories because of the jaquard and print element. I would style this with black strappy sandals or boots if the weather calls
Nordstrom

Maroon Find of the Day

[STEAL] Lush Faux Wrap Chiffon Maxi Dress $31.20
The color of this dress is perfect if your a Texas A&M girl. I love the way Nordstrom styled it with the booties, but I also think Cowboy boots could work for a more country look. Pair with a jean jacket when the weather gets more chilly.
Nordstrom

Orange Find of the Day

[STEAL] Forever 21 Crepe Woven Midi Dress $17.80
The flow and fit of this dress would be ideal on many different body styles and the length would be appropriate even on the tallest of females. You wont be too hot but you still won't be showing off too much business. Judging by the one review, this would probably be best for someone who is not normally a 0 or 2. Pair with some cute strappy sandals (I hate how they did it with black, come on its not halloween).
Orange & Sassy

Purple Find of the Day

Wayf Long Sleeve Crepe Shift Dress $59
This dress is perfect for a cool crisp fall day. The long sleeves mean you don't need to lug around a jacket which is great for gameday. This dress could be worn with sandals if you're feeling sassy or boots when the weather is more cool.
would love to see it with these boots

Maybe it's a little pinkish, but it is also definitely purple.
This also comes in Blue & Red making it perfect for you SMU & Texas Tech gals out there.

Black Find of the Day

Topshop Eyelash Tee $32
I love the lace on this top. It would be perfect with any color of colored jeans. Red, purple, green, blue, maroon, yellowetc. Sass it up with a big necklace or possibly some Kendra Scott earrings to complete a spirited look.
Hope you enjoyed my finds. Check back tomorrow for more or keep checking Pinterest for the ultimate list. Remember, if it's no longer available on the internet, it won't be on my Pinterest.
Tomorrow I hope to start using Polyvore to give you the full outfit visual. Yay look out for that!

I'm out. Happy Tailgating!

First Post: Baylor/ SMU Game Day Looks

I am so excited to finally take this on! I have always been so fascinated and obsessed with game-day fashion. It is so great to be able to look cute while supporting your team. Unfortunately, finding certain colors during certain months is virtually impossible. (I once needed a red dress for a "red out" in the middle of september; I wet to EVERY store in Dallas' NorhtPark mall and found one thing. Since then, I started to hoard them. Just in case.

Today I started a Pinterest Board (I would really appreciate a follow)! I will be posting the perfect pieces for your tailgate/school event/etc. They are sorted by school, but if your school is not listed and another has the same school colors, It can obviously be cross applicable. I will go through these once a week to ensure that these items that I have linked to are still available from the specific retailers. Lets be real, how frustrating is it when you see something simply perfect on Pinterest and you have absolutely no idea where to buy it OR it's sold out. Yeah, none of that will be happening on my board. On here I will highlight my favorite finds from my internet searches just to give you a little sneak peek.

So without further hesitation, here are mine from today. My first two boards include colors applicable to my two schools (SMU & Baylor) so for those of you unfamiliar with these amazing institutions, Red, Blue, Yellow & Green.
side note: these will be sorted starting with the higher price point dresses first, aka the ultimate. the second set will be much more affordable options but obviously just as cute.

Red Finds of the Day

 Kate Spade Ashby Dress $201
This cute little thing is on Sale if you can believe it. The 3/4 length sleeve will make it perfect for crisp fall weather. Pair it with cowboy boots and a contrasting color necklace for a fully complete look.
click on image for more information

[STEAL] Forever 21 Fit & Flare Dress $17.80
Umm this is so basic and cute. Cowboy boots or sandals, either would work.
I would finish the look off with these, or something like it

Blue Finds of the Day

Lilly Pulitzer Whitaker Wrap Dress $188
This dress is SOOOOOO CUTE. I legitmately believe this style would work on 90% of different body types. If you are busty a cami can help with that, if you're taller add tights. The long sleeve will make it ideal for the fall weather and the silky texture will feel great on the skin. This one is definitely a win!
So it looks as if this is sold out online in navy. ugh. but maybe you lucky people who have a store in your city can ask them to do a send sale or check out a via shop. hopefully it's not a total lost cause.

[STEAL] Forever 21 Ribbon Applique Halter Dress $24.80
This is just adorable. Sassy & embellished. Perfect little combination. Add some
red shoes (or whatever your other color is) for a sassy little extra pop of color and spirit.

White Finds of the Day

Lilly Pulitzer Nicole Strapless Romper $148
This dress ensemble will only be good for one game of the year, but seriously who cares. White could not get any cuter. It's sassy, classy and all things any good southern girl wants for a football game
I can't honestly stand how cute this would be with cowboy boots. And maybe
this purse  and these earrings Just a thought.

[STEAL] Forever 21 Strappy Fit & Flare $22.80
I love love love the back of this dress. Perfect for a whiteout game when the average temperature outside is over 100F. This could paired with legitimately anything.

Red, White & Blue Find of the Day: Kate Spade Corley Dress $398.
I think this thing is so wonderfully patriotic. Although it is a little fancy, it would be such a great way to not only represent your country but your school. It could also be worn at a variety of other occasions. I would pair with strappy flat sandals such as these cute things

Green Find of the Day

[STEAL] Forever 21 Class Striped Woven Dress $27.80
This dress is remarkably preppy and conservative for Forever 21. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. If I may say, it even looks a tad Kate Spade like.

Yellow Find of the Day

[STEAL] Urban Outfitters Kimichi Blue Daisy Strap Dress $69
I flippin love this thing. The daisies on the straps, and the tie back are so darn cute. I also love the cut. Super flattering. I love how effortless the model looks. That is obviously a way to style this or add some statement earrings and of course your cowboy boots.

That pretty much wraps up my game day finds for today. Check back tomorrow and Pinterest for more great finds!
